On 13 October 2008, the school (SSMP) under Datin Rugayah's Community Nutrition had organized a fieldwork to Moyog to investigate and observed the 'KZM' case in Sabah or better known as 'Kurang Zat Makanan' among children in Sabah. I was the head of the community who organized the fieldwork. The aim of this fieldwork is to observed the real scenario of malnutrition in Sabah which involve the popular term 'KZM' case among children. Secondly is to know the real challenging task of the state's community nutrition officer that focus on to minimize the severe malnutrition cases that still occur in Sabah especially in the rural areas. So our journey began by visiting the Klinik kesihatan Penampang where we were given a short briefing by Sr. Marina regarding the recent 'KZM' case that still happen in the district of Penampang and Moyog as well as Babagon. The talk was very interesting as we got to know a lot of information about the malnutrition case that we were going to observe and investigate. Here are some pictures of the fieldwork:
Sr. Marina, a nurse of Klinik Kesihatan Penampang is giving us a briefing on the KZM case in Penampang, Moyog and Babagon.
A gift from us presented by our lecturer Datin Rugayah to Staffness Marina Kaon for her short briefing.
A short briefing at the second destination in Klinik Desa Moyog before we went to visit the house in Kg. Tagudon.

It was really raining cats and dogs!
The house of the family that we had visited that day.
Another briefing about the anthropometry characteristics of a KZM child.
This is the food basket that the government supply every month to the child. It should contain rice, sugar, flour, green beans, enchovies, cooking oil, biscuits, milk and multivitamins.
A group photo session together with little Jamilus Simon and his mother. He was crying because of too many people came and visited him that day.
A little token of appreciation from us to the family of Jamilus Simon for accepting our visits.
Another token of appreciation from us: we decided to give some fruits, cookies and most importanly 5 different seeds of vegetables for the family to plant. I know they can do it!
Our visits that day ended up at about 3pm. It was such a wonderful fieldwork as we had the opportunity to experience the real scenario on KZM cases other than just learning the theory in lecture. Hope, little Jamilus will be able to grow as a normal and healthy child!
